Exciting News: I've Completed My Birth & Postnatal Doula Diploma!

If you've been following Lily & Life for a while, you may have noticed I've been a little quieter than usual recently. That's because I've been busy behind the scenes completing my Birth & Postnatal Doula Diploma, and I'm so excited to finally share the news with you.

Supporting families through pregnancy, birth and the early days of parenthood has always been at the heart of what I do. Through my antenatal and hypnobirthing classes, I've had the privilege of helping many local parents prepare for birth and feel more informed and confident as they welcome their babies into the world.

Over time, I've found myself wanting to offer even more support to families, both during birth itself and in those precious but often overwhelming weeks afterwards. Becoming a doula felt like a very natural next step.

What is a Doula?

A doula provides continuous support to families during pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period. Unlike healthcare professionals, doulas do not provide medical care. Instead, we offer emotional support, practical help, evidence based information and continuity of care.

As a birth doula, my role is to protect and optimise the physiology of birth, helping families navigate their options with confidence while providing calm, unwavering support throughout labour and birth.

As a postnatal doula, my role is to care for you while you care for your baby, offering support with breastfeeding, rest, meals, household tasks and the many ups and downs that come with early parenthood.

Why This Matters To Me

Birth and babies have become a huge passion of mine over the past few years. My own experiences taught me just how important the right support can be, and how much difference it makes when parents feel informed, heard and genuinely cared for.

I believe birth is one of the most important days of your life. It shouldn't be approached with fear. With the right preparation, support and information, it can be a positive, empowering experience.

I also know that support shouldn't stop once your baby arrives. The postnatal period is a huge adjustment, and many families find themselves needing just as much care and support after birth as they do beforehand.

Coming Soon

I'm currently working behind the scenes on my birth and postnatal doula packages, and I'll be sharing more information very soon.

I'll be supporting families across Cheddar, Wells, Wedmore and the surrounding Somerset area, alongside my existing antenatal and hypnobirthing services.

If you're expecting a baby and would like to learn more about doula support, I'd love to hear from you. In the meantime, keep an eye on my social media and website for more updates.

I can't wait to start supporting families in this new capacity and continue helping parents feel calm, informed and ready for the incredible adventure ahead.
